CMR Dealer "HemiFeverTuning.com"

The DiabloSport custom tuning software, Chip Master Revolution or “CMR”, is an integral component to the DiabloSport family of tuning products. Once you consider the number of vehicles from Chrysler, Ford, and GM, we support, it is simple for our dealers to satisfy the dreams of their owners ranging from mild to wild. To support our worldwide network of CMR dealers will be running features on one of them every few weeks in our blogs. The first one we will be doing is a feature on Sean from Hemifevertuning.com.

I started tuning primarily with Dodge back in 2004 when I mistakenly turbo'd my '03 Hemi Ram not realizing the lack of tuning solutions in the Dodge market.  After successfully mastering a piggyback system with forced induction (on a Hemi) I began providing this tuning solution for other people installing forced induction systems on the Hemi Rams.  Thankfully Diablo stepped up to the plate and filled a massive void in the market resurrecting Hemifever Tuning, Inc.

I am often asked why I do this.  What do I get out of it? It's an addiction actually. Each new customer is like my first customer.  My tuning is all about making the overall driving experience the best it can be. I enjoy seeing the enthusiasm each customer has when their truck or car is running its best.  Reducing ET's is a rush, I honestly just want to see each person run as quick as they can.  All while providing great customer service! I think it’s important to understand the customer. Not only is owning a Mopar great in itself, but having owned a Hemi Ram, 300c's, Charger and Challengers (5.7 and SRT8's), it has allowed me to build tunes based around what my customers are driving.

It’s tough to say what my favorite build has been. It's always great to see my customers break into the 12's with a truck. That's an accomplishment on everybody's part and always rewarding. I think it’s also nice to see my customers take odd builds and work it out so they can fit into a DiabloSport tuned solution. An example being a 1970 Challenger with a 6.1 hemi conversion and using correct drivetrain and PCM so it can be tuned with a DiabloSport or a Dakota with a Hemi transplant and Hemi Ram PCM all tuned with DiabloSport.

DiabloSport has truly changed the [Dodge/Chrysler] industry with their tuning solutions. It’s great to be a part of their family as we're all on the same team to make the customer quicker!

Sights, Sounds, and Smells

We always hear about whether or not a car is visually appealing. Your eyes are one of the first senses you use to decide if you like a car or not. Without your eyes you wouldn’t know what specific body lines you like on a car. If you are from a car family you usually learn this very early when I was a child I loved the Super Stock Hemi Barracuda because of the hood scopes. As you grew up and your tastes matured you started moving to what colors you like, the amount of chrome you find to be in good taste, and specific styling you associate with fast cars.

 Once you progress beyond from “car enthusiast” to being a “car nut”, “gearhead”, “automotive fanatic”, “extreme tuner”, or whatever you prefer to be called, the senses you use to define cool change from just your eyes, to your nose and ears. I believe you can tell more from a vehicle by using your nose and ears than you could ever figure out with the eyes alone. Keeping with the theme of sights and sounds, I asked around the office to get their take on which smells and sounds are their favorites. While there were similarities in the answers, they were also as different as the personalities of the employees of DiabloSport.

The power adders ranked the highest: the whistle of the blow off valve on a turbo set up, the “PSSSSTTT” of a nitrous purge, and (my favorite) the whine of a supercharger. There were others who loved the loping sound of a big cam or the roar of an open exhaust system. Of course one of our resident Europeans added the high RPM screen of an F-1 engine. He’s a genius, so we let it slide.

The sound and smell of a burnout also ranked very high on the list, but that is where the similarities ended. Depending on our passions outside the office, the answers started deviating. The crackle and smell of Nitromethane ranked high on my list but also received weird looks for the street racers. Racing gas and alcohol also made the list from several people. Regardless of the fuel of choice. We all agreed the smell of freshly sprayed racing surface with VHT was heavenly.

The smell of a new car interior was on the list too many times to be left out. One of our techs told me about his favorite air freshener, not fully understanding the question. New guys are good for a few laughs anywhere.

The World is Changing.....Again

Throughout the 20th and 21st century there have been many products that represented America to the outside world. In my grandfather’s time it was chocolate and nylons as he made his trip across Europe. In my father’s time it was it was Rock and Roll music and blue jeans to the European countries behind the “Iron Curtain”. In my time it is modern muscle cars to the Middle East.

Strange that none of these products are linked in anyway but all of them represent the same thing, Freedom found only in the United States of America. What is even more impressive is the car counts from the Chrysler Car Shows happening in Iraq. A place where showing a Pro- American attitude can still get you killed. These young people don’t care about the risks and want to take advantage of their new freedom by blasting high horsepower American cars down the desert highways.

There are quite a few differences in driving in Iraq than in the States. Traffic laws are still in their infancy in the country. After talking with a customer from Baghdad he informed us that only 20 percent of the country, other than Baghdad, has traffic signals and it is nothing to see a 10 year old driving a vehicle. Jbv states “other than that driving a Challenger in Baghdad is amazing”. “It’s been about two years that people are wanting muscle cars before no one would want such cars but now it’s different.” The ability to stay calm under these extreme difficult conditions is amazing. Jbv believes that driving in such conditions makes amazing drivers. I would be experiencing some world class road rage.
